Set user roles

There are 5 basic roles defined in the system. Each one with different rights. Some of them are more suitable for marketing, others for application integrators. If the preset settings do not suit you, you can create new roles or edit existing roles.

Basic roles

MiniSlider

• Show posts
• Edit posts and publish to 'for approval'
• Upload files

Slider

• Complete work with posts
• It cannot delete other posts but only edit them

Super slider

• Complete work with posts
• Managing screens
• Template and layout settings

Admin slider

• Only showing posts
• Managing users
• Complete settings management
• Device register
• Managing screens

Master

• Role with all rights 

Enable custom roles

To define user roles, go to:

1. Manage Users- User Role
2. Check and save the Enable advanced user role management option?
   [x] On

Add your own role 

Go to:

1. Manage users - User role - Add new role
2. Fill the name of role and click Add

Within SIGNAGELAB you can create your own roles for individual users.

Each role then has finely defined rights to access and manage each type of post, and to assign rights to manage screens and users.

Post Rights (Posts, Video, Gallery, ....):

• read - user can view posts
• edit - user can create and edit posts
• edit_others - user can edit posts of other users
• delete - user can erase his posts
• delete_others - user can erase posts of other users
• publish - user can publish posts

Rights for Pages:

• it is used only for customization and integration, it does not affect the system operation

Other rights:

• manage_screens - manage screens, tags, and create new, global management permissions
• upload_files - allows to upload media files
• manage_categories -specific right to modify screens and their categories
• edit_interactivity - deprecated right to modify interactive applications
• manage_hugs - device management and monitoring 
• monitor_hugs - device monitoring
• monitor_hugs_passive -allow display monitoring of displays, but do not allow any actions (for operation it must be enabled superordinate right "monitor_hugs")
• manage_hug_users - right to access user management
• add_hug_user_roles - right to create user roles
• list_users - right to view users associated with your account
• promote_users - adjust user rights
• add_users - right to add new user
• create_users - right to create a user - related to the previous one
• edit_users - right to edit users
• delete_users - right to delete users
• remove_users -right to remove users - the user remains in the system as "deactivated"
• manage_hug_settings - the right to manage the settings of each application
• manage_hug_template  - the right to modify templates and layouts. If the template or application allows it
• manage_posts - right required to edit the content if the user does not have Posts enabled
• manage_hugs_options -  right to display the Screen settings item in the menu
• register_hug_device - right to register new device
• hug_notification_settings - right to edit notifications
• assign_hug_to_screen - right to assign devices to the screen
